What is your favorite hobby besides drawing and painting?

If you could travel anywhere, where would you like to go and why?
“If I could travel anywhere, I would like to go to Japan. I want to go there because I am curious about its culture, food, and beautiful places. I hope to see the cherry blossoms, visit ancient temples, and explore busy cities like Tokyo. I would also love to try traditional Japanese food and learn more about their customs. Visiting Japan would be an exciting adventure and a chance to experience something completely new.”
Aayushi’s dream travel destination reflects her curiosity and love for exploration. Her interest in culture, nature, and food shows an adventurous and observant mind.

Which art medium is your favorite? (Watercolor, Gouache, Color Pencils, Pencil Drawing)
“My favorite art medium is watercolor. I love how the colors blend together to create soft, beautiful effects. It is fun to experiment with adding more or less water to change the colors and textures. I also enjoy painting landscapes and animals because watercolors make them look lively and bright. Using watercolor allows me to be creative and try new techniques, which makes painting even more exciting.”
Watercolors perfectly match Aayushi’s gentle and vibrant style. Her ability to blend and experiment with colors demonstrates both confidence and curiosity.
Fun Fact: Watercolor paint is made from colors found in nature, like minerals, plants and even rocks! Kids are painting with colors that come from nature itself.
What is your favorite project we did at this year’s Summer Art Camp?
“My favorite project at this year’s Summer Art Camp was making a neon signboard. I loved choosing bright colors and designing my own words and shapes for the sign. It was exciting to see how the colors looked bold and glowing on the board. I enjoyed being creative and figuring out how to make my design stand out. This project was fun and special because it allowed me to create something unique that I could be proud of.”
Aayushi’s neon sign project highlights her creativity and eye for bold design. She loves projects where she can experiment, stand out, and express her own personality.
What advice would you give to young artists starting doing art?
“My advice to young artists starting out is to have fun and not worry about making mistakes. Art is all about expressing yourself, and there is no right or wrong way to create. Try different colors, tools, and ideas to see what you enjoy the most. Keep practicing and be patient, because your skills will improve over time. Most importantly, always enjoy the process and be proud of whatever you make, because every drawing or painting is special.”
Aayushi understands that creativity grows best when kids explore freely, practice patiently, and celebrate their own unique work.
